USDAC Poetic Address to the Nation

  • Painted Bride Arts Center 230 Vine Street Philadelphia, PA USA (map)

Yolanda Wisher hosts the Poetic Address to the Nation, the culmination of The People’s State of the Union (#PSOTU), an annual civic ritual and participatory art project of the U.S. Department of Arts and Culture (USDAC). The People’s State of the Union has two main parts: 1) story circles across the nation in homes, schools, houses of worship, and community organizations in which participants share their own take on the state of our union, and 2) a collaboratively composed Poetic Address to the Nation featuring the work of locally and nationally known poets. This year's Address will take place in Philadelphia, live streamed by PhillyCAM for a later broadcast by FreeSpeechTV.
